Community Prevention Advisor
Christina Johnson graduated from the University of South Dakota in May 2023 with a master’s in social work. During her studies, she attained a graduate assistantship where she counseled students at the Student Counseling Center. She also contributed to the growth and development of the Peer2Peer Mentoring Program as a Program Associate with Lost&Found.
“In these roles, I learned how to better anticipate and understand the needs of students during such a critical time in their life,” Christina said. “I am so thrilled to utilize the experience and knowledge gained in these roles to make a larger impact in the communities I serve.
“I have been fortunate to have amazing mentors who have encouraged and challenged me over the years. I worked as a Recovery Coach for a non-profit organization in Rapid City for almost three years. In that role, I learned one of the most valuable lessons; everyone is doing the best that they can with the skills that they have. I do my best to remember this in all that I do!”
In her free time, Christina enjoys cooking for family and friends, spending time outdoors, tending to her many plant babies, thrifting, and traveling when she can.
