The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.

Veterans, active service members, and their loved ones can reach the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) 24/7/365 by calling 988 and pressing 1. You can also chat live with a professional at the 988 website, see link to the right.

The Crisis Text Line is here for any crisis and available anywhere in the United States, anytime. A live, trained Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from a secure online platform.

The Helpline Center in South Dakota can be contacted for information and support – whether financial, family, health, or disaster-related. The call or text is free and confidential.

Even those with toughened hands and hearts need someone to talk to. Extreme weather conditions, machinery breakdowns, a volatile ag environment, long hours that prevent time with family, and lowered income all cause frustration. That’s why Avera offers the Farm and Rural Stress Hotline where you can talk to one of our skilled, compassionate mental health professionals and trust them to help you navigate whatever you’re experiencing – such as symptoms or signs of anxiety or depression.

Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for our trans and questioning peers. Call if you need someone trans to talk to, even if you’re not in crisis or if you’re not sure you’re trans. The Hotline is open 24/7, but operating at reduced capacity.

StrongHearts Native Helpline is a 24/7 safe, confidential, and anonymous domestic, dating and sexual violence helpline for American Indians and Alaska Natives, offering culturally appropriate support and advocacy. The helpline is available every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT.

The Trevor Project’s trained counselors understand the challenges LGBTQ young people face. They will listen without judgement. All conversations are confidential, and you can share as much or as little as you’d like. The Disaster Distress Helpline is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year, national hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster. This toll-free, multilingual, and confidential crisis support service is available to all residents in the United States and its territories.  

The National Domestic Violence Hotline advocates are here to listen without judgement and help you begin to address what’s going on in your relationship. Our services are always free and available 24/7.

RAINN is the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country. If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, help is available.

The National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline has trained advocates are available 24/7 to offer support, education, and advocacy to teens and young adults (as well as friends and family) with questions or concerns about dating and relationships.
