After several major changes, she graduated in December 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Addiction Counseling and Prevention (what used to be known as Alcohol and Drug Studies and then Addiction Studies). She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work and will be finished in May 2022.
Her aspirations after she graduates are to work in mental health, especially in a community setting. She would like to bring awareness and shed light on the importance of reducing the stigma of mental health, specifically depression and suicidal ideation, as well as bring more light to sexual assault, partner violence, rape survivors and stalking. Her passion in these two areas stems from person and professional experiences and how disheartening it was to see people go through the pain of suicide, sexual assault, partner violence, rape, and stalking.
When she’s not helping her Lost&Found amigos with spreading the word about mental health and helping to reduce the stigma of mental health or studying for her master’s, she is at home with her two beautiful children, ages 6 and 6 months, as well as her husband. She enjoys writing, reading, playing piano, scouring YouTube for funny clips of Weekend Update with Michael Che and Colin Jost from SNL, watching Grey’s Anatomy, and listening to music.
